[Kim looks around his apartment] "What am I doing on `Melrose Place'?" [The title appears onscreen] "Gee, that describes just about every episode..." [shot of Kim looking confused] Kim's fiancee: What's with you today? "Why are we living in a greenhouse?" Kim: What day is today? Fiancee: 49011. "No, that's our phone number!" [Kim walks past a "Trans Francisco" station entrance] "It's the 24th century, and they're finally opening that BART extension!" [Kim admits he didn't bring the warp core schematic] "Oh, just invent some technobabble like you do every week." [a shot of the Starfleet admirals] "Okay, be funny. Come on." [Kim sits down at his computer] "So, the laptops of the future will be big and bulky and still have keyboards?" Kim to computer: Have any temporal anomalies been registered in the last 48 hours? "So this time distortion thing happens often?" [Cosimo watches Kim leave another confusing conversation] "Hmm... I ought to have caught on by now." [Kim comes home to a view of the TransAmerica pyramid out the window and his finacee wearing a towel] "In case you've forgotten, they're in San Francisco." "Say, don't you have a life or something?" Kim: ...and not a second goes by that I don't think of you. "Yeah? What about those Delaney sisters in Stellar Cartography?" [shot of the Golden Gate bridge] "In case you were wondering, this is happening in San Francisco." [another view out Kim's picture window] "Yup, he's *still* in San Francisco!" Fiancee: Tell me what's going on. Kim: Nothing's going on. "That's the problem!!" Fiancee: ...so tell me there's nothing going on. "*I* can tell you..." Kim: I'm not who you think. "My real name is Tom Veil." [Kim's fiancee offers little disagreement to him rushing off to France in the middle of the night] "Must remain dumb... must stay subordinate to plot..." Paris: The _Voyager_? Sorry to disappoint you... "...but I never watch that show." Paris: Look at me!! What do you see?!? "I see a guy overacting." [The admiral puts down the grey thingamajig by Kim's buddy] "Here, your turn with the Game Boy." "Today is Put a Stiff Collar on a Tree Day." Kim: I could recreate the conditions... "And screw things up even worse!" [back at Kim's apartment] "Yes, they're STILL in San Francisco!!" [The world's most ineffective security comes to catch Kim] "He's getting away-- maybe you should stun him?... Well, just stun her!... Have you thought of stunning him?... Stun him!... Come *on*, you're carry- ing a PHASER! Remember what that's for?" Paris: I haven't thought about my future in a long time... "And besides, I'm the only other major character around..." Kim: I'm going to recreate the conditions exactly. "So I'll be that much further away from where I started." [The crew of _Voyager_ attempts to retrieve Kim] "This would be really exciting if I had any idea what was going on." [Kim greets Paris cordially; Paris gives him an odd look] "Uh... you coming on to me?" Next week: Deep Hurting.
